Hi, I’m Rebecca.

I heard someone say, “why would I send money to save the whales? I have never even seen a while.” I couldn’t get this out of my head. I thought, “well then, that’s my job - to show you a whale, a lion, an elephant, birds, and so on.” Maybe if I keep showing you, you will start to connect and want to ask questions and eventually want to save them along with their territory. I don’t always photograph typically endangered species but the rate our trees, water, and open spaces are diminishing, I think we should be actively trying to save them all. My goal is to capture wildlife and nature in a way that you will want to view these images in your home or any other space you belong. And by living with them, you will start to connect to them and once you connect to them, you will start to want to protect them. As I do.

I have a BFA in Photography and a Master’s in Teaching. I often combine these skills to teach photography in after school programing, online, and more. I love watching it “click” with someone and helping them develop their new passion for taking pictures.

When not working behind the lens, teaching photography workshops, or traveling, Rebecca can be found birdwatching, hiking with her friends, reading and spending time with her two cats.

What makes a Rebecca Stone print?

Nature and Wildlife photographers dedicate substantial time to capturing the perfect shot by understanding the behavior of their subjects, often starting early or late to get the best light. This involves spending hours in observation and research, integrating with the natural environment without disrupting animal behavior, and requires patience and precision to capture images that might take hours, months, or years to achieve. It a dedication that I live for and I am grateful to spend my life photographing these animals and nature’s magic.
